To make contact please either ring or email, whatever feels more comfortable for you? We can then arrange to meet at an agreeable time.
The initial meeting is for you to get to know a little about me, for me to get to know a little about you and to then establish the best way forward for you.
The sessions are one to one and last for 50 minutes. These are normally weekly sessions as it helps to build up a momentum for counselling to be of the most benefit. The number and frequency of sessions are matters that we can discuss together.
I supervise group and individual Psychotherapists and counsellors and look to provide a creative, supportive, reflective, safe space to encourage learning, monitoring, developing and constructively challenging the work being undertaken. It is ultimately thinking about utilising the work of the supervise; to enable one to be practicing safely and in accordance with the BACP's Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy, increase self-awareness, self-evaluation and continuous professional development. I have supported different counsellors from varying theoretical orientations.
I have worked and supervised therapists in a number of settings including:- NHS, social services, schools, colleges, universities and EAP's as well as agency work with sexual abuse, bereavement, immigration, domestic abuse, addictions, women's and men's organisations. As a result I have a good understanding of ethical and legal requirements for working in these various settings My experience also includes navigating a number of counsellors through the BACP accreditation process.
My fees are £60 per session for individuals and supervisees. I offer a limited amount of concessions.
I currently counsel from a venue in Thames Ditton, which has good parking facilities and is accessible by train services (5 minute walk) and buses.
